The Chisago Lakes Triathlon will again feature the friendly Swedish communities of the Chisago Lakes Area. Paradise Park offers an eagle eye’s view of the swim course.

Parking is on residential streets and open parking lots. HALF IRON PARTICIPANTS ONLY can park across the street from Paradise Park at the Chuckie Lundquist Park. You must have your permit on your dash.  Download permit on right hand column.

The swim is at beautiful Paradise Park at Chisago Lake in Chisago City. Buoys mark the course. Keep the buoys to your right.

The bike course has a few rollers, mainly flat. Bottle exchanges at mile 25 and 47. Please stay to your LEFT when entering the tunnel from either direction. 

The run goes through charming residential streets with community support and several water stations. All run courses follow residential roads. Sprint Turnaround is at the school, Olympic turn around just after mile 3 on 275th St. Half turnaround on Chisago Blvd at Maxwell Rd. 

The bike course have 2  Gatorade/water Hand off aid stations with simple carbs and medical supplies.

Participants receive a finisher medal, swim cap, age group awards, and food after the event. 

The run course will have a water/gatorade stop with simple carbs every 2  miles. 

DISTANCE
Sprint: 1/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Olympic: .75 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run
Half: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13 mile run

Half Swim cut off 88 minutes
Half Bike cut off 3 hours 48 minutes
Half Run cut off 3:10 hours
Cut off times begin at the start of your wave

RULES

1. Swim caps must be worn which we will be providing.
2. Helmets must be worn/securely strapped before leaving transition.
3. Relay chip hand off is at the cyclist's designated bike spot.
4.  No one but the athletes are allowed in the transition area.  
5.  Bib number must be worn on the run. 
6.  There is no drafting on the bike. Click here for details
7.  Secure chip tightly on your left ankle. 
8.   It is your responsibility to return the chip once you cross the finishline.
9.   It is your responsibility to  know the course.       
10. Aqua bike go to the finishline to receive your medal.

2024 Midwest Club Championship

Chisago Lakes Triathlon is excited to announce the Midwest Half Iron Club Championship . This competitive spin on our Half Iron distance event promises to be a thrilling opportunity for clubs from the Midwest to showcase their prowess and  endurance. The scoring is simple.  From each club or team, we will take the top overall 2 males and 1 female and combine their overall placement.  Be sure to select your club or team when registering.

Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities are available beginning Thursday through the day of the event.  It takes a great team of volunteers to create a well-known and loved event like the Chisago Lakes athlon. Need more info: gloria@dutrirun.com

KID'S TRIATHLON

Chisago Lakes Kid's Triathlon is for This event emphasizes health, build self-confidence and fun, in a safe, family-friendly atmosphere  for ages 5 to 10 year's old.
1. Kids receive a shirt, bib and goody bag.
2. Distances are appropriate to age:
  -5-6: 50 ft. swim; .6 mile bike, .15 mile run
   -7-8: 100 ft. swim; 1 mile bike; .3 mile run
   -9-10:200 ft. swim; 1 mile bike; .3 mile run
3. Swim course for 5-6 ages is waist deep.
4. Swim course  7-10 ages is chest deep. 
5. Swim course in never over child's head.
6.  Helmets mandatory. Swim caps optional. 
7. Parents can assist their child as needed.
8. Trophies top 3 in each age group f/m.
9.  All kids will receive a finisher's medal
10.  Food for kids after. Awards 9:15 a.m.           

Awards

Awards will go to the first F/M in each distance.  Age group awards will also be given to the top 3 F/M  in 5 year increments starting with 15 and under, 16-19,20-24, 25-29, 30-34 u to 80-84. Top relay teams in each distance will also receive awards. Top 5 receive awards in the Aqua-Bike Division. Midwest Half Iron Club Challenge will be awarded to the top three.  Kid's Triathlon will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd  in the age divisions f/m: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10.
